KDLT.com South Dakota News - Haiti Orphans
Last night we spent some time catching up on friends' blogs about adoptions. We found this news report from our kids' homecoming...yet another one we had never seen or been contacted about...with plenty of typos and half-info to boot :) THEN, we read about our adoption coordinator's last trip to Haiti. As she talked about the plight of families there, it was clear that the earthquake may as well have just occurred last week for some of them. Even worse, they are starting to bulldoze some of the tent cities, leaving many families with absolutely no where to go.
It was so good for us to be reminded of all of this. We need to never forget WHY our kids' birthmothers made the choices they did and why WE have been called to parent them. We also don't want our friends and families (and blog readers) to forget. The tireless workers like Diana, Ali and Jamie, and so many others need our continued prayers as they struggle to find safe, loving, nurturing families for the kids in Haiti. Yes, their goal is always to keep them with their families in Haiti. But when those families have no way to provide life's basic necessities to their children, and they beg for a new family for their children...then we pray for God to help cut the red tape and connect the people he has called to complete the circle.
